AksharChem Expands Precipitated Silica Capacity by 6,000 TPA at Dahej Plant

AksharChem (India) Limited has announced a significant expansion of its Precipitated Silica manufacturing facility located in Dahej, Gujarat. The company has successfully added 6,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) to its capacity, bringing the cumulative Precipitated Silica capacity to 18,000 TPA.

The manufacturing operations for this expansion received approval and became effective from June 24, 2025. The company formally communicated this development to the exchanges on June 30, 2025, with the approval order being received at 10:42 a.m. (IST) on the same day.

This strategic expansion is poised to enhance AksharChem’s operational capabilities, allowing it to better meet the increasing market demand for Precipitated Silica. The company highlighted that the expanded capacity will strengthen its competitive edge by offering an expanded size range and a broader selection of products. Furthermore, the enhancement is expected to reinforce the company’s commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, particularly serving the growing needs of the tyre and rubber industries.

AksharChem emphasized that these expanded capabilities will offer unique synergies and improved access to essential raw materials, leading to more cost-effective production. The company views this Dahej expansion as a crucial step in its journey towards scaling up operational capacity and driving further success in the Silica business.

Following the announcement, shares of AksharChem (India) Limited were trading at ₹283.5, marking a 2.7% increase.
