BHEL Secures Major ₹6,500 Crore Order from Adani Power for 4,800 MW Thermal Units

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a substantial domestic order from Adani Power Ltd. (APL), as announced on June 27, 2025. The Letter of Award (LoA) is for the supply of critical equipment and supervision services for six thermal power units, each with a capacity of 800 MW.

The comprehensive order encompasses the supply of Steam Turbine Generators along with their auxiliaries, as well as the supervision of erection and commissioning activities for these six units, totaling 4,800 MW of power generation capacity. The broad consideration or size of this significant contract is approximately ₹6,500 crore, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The execution timeline for this project will be as per Adani Power’s specific project requirements. BHEL confirmed that this is a domestic order and does not involve any related party transactions or promoter interest in the entity that awarded the contract.

At the time of this announcement, BHEL shares were trading at ₹264.55, reflecting a decrease of 0.7%.
