Big news from the infrastructure sector! G R Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) has emerged as the L1 bidder for a substantial power transmission project in Madhya Pradesh. Being the ‘L1 bidder’ means GRIL submitted the lowest bid and is now the preferred choice to be awarded this significant contract. This is a major win that underscores GRIL’s growing footprint in India’s crucial energy infrastructure development.
The project focuses on establishing a robust transmission system for evacuating power from Renewable Energy (RE) projects in Rajgarh (1500 MW) and Neemuch (1000 MW) Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Madhya Pradesh. This initiative is a key step in strengthening India’s green energy backbone and ensuring that clean power reaches consumers efficiently.
Under a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model, GRIL will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the project. This includes building the necessary infrastructure, owning and operating it for a substantial period of 35 years, and then transferring it. The project is set to generate annual transmission charges of Rs. 3670.73 Million (approximately Rs. 367.07 Crores) over this 35-year operational period, providing a long-term revenue stream for the company.
The scope of work is comprehensive, involving the establishment of new substations, augmentation of existing ones, and the construction of numerous high-voltage transmission lines and associated bays. Key components include:
This ambitious project, coordinated by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited, is expected to be completed within 24 months from the acquisition of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed for the project. It’s a testament to GRIL’s capabilities in executing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects vital for India’s energy transition. Keep an eye on GRIL as they continue to power India’s growth! 🏗️💡
