Big news from the energy sector! ๐Ÿš€ JSW Energy Limited (JSWENERGY) just announced a major milestone: the full commissioning of its 240 MW Kutehr Hydroelectric Power Plant in Himachal Pradesh. This means the third and final 80 MW unit is now officially online, bringing the entire plant to full operational capacity.

This isn’t just any commissioning; it’s a significant step for JSW Energy. With the Kutehr plant now fully functional, the company’s total installed generation capacity has surged past the 13 GW mark, reaching an impressive 13,020 MW! That’s a robust increase of 2,145 MW since March 2025, showcasing the company’s rapid growth and execution prowess.

What’s even more exciting? This hydro project significantly boosts JSW Energy’s green footprint. With these latest additions, renewable energy sources now make up a whopping 57% of their total installed capacity, comprising 1,631 MW from hydro, 2,157 MW from solar, and 3,574 MW from wind. Talk about a commitment to a sustainable future! ๐ŸŒฟ

The Kutehr plant, located in the Chamba district, is quite a feat itself. It’s one of India’s fastest-built greenfield hydro projects, completed in less than six years despite challenges like COVID-19 disruptions and extreme weather. Plus, it’s backed by a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) for the entire 240 MW, ensuring stable revenue at a levelized ceiling tariff of โ‚น4.50/kWh for 35 years.

Mr. Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, shared his pride, stating, โ€œThis milestone highlights our strong project execution capabilities and unwavering commitment to delivering clean, sustainable energy to the nation.โ€ He also noted the opportune timing, allowing them to capitalize on the ongoing high-generation season.

Looking ahead, JSW Energy has ambitious plans. They currently have a total locked-in generation capacity of 30.3 GW and aim to reach 30 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030, with a vision to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050. It’s clear JSW Energy is not just powering homes, but also powering a greener tomorrow! ๐Ÿ’ก
