Big news from the green energy front! πŸš€ Today, August 4, 2025, marks a significant milestone for NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) as its wholly-owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), has emerged as the successful bidder in a crucial e-reverse auction.

NTPC REL has secured the full capacity of 70,000 metric tonnes per annum (MT/Year) of Green Ammonia in an auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). This isn’t just any win; it’s a key part of SECI’s larger initiative to procure 7.24 lakh MT/Year of Green Ammonia spread across 13 locations nationwide.

So, what does this mean? NTPC REL will be supplying this substantial quantity of Green Ammonia to Krishana Phoschem Limited, located in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. The deal was secured at a competitive rate of Rs. 51.80 per kilogram.

Why is this important? Green Ammonia is a game-changer in the quest for decarbonization. It’s produced using renewable energy sources, making it a clean alternative for various industrial applications, including fertilizers and potentially as a future fuel. This move by NTPC REL underscores India’s commitment to expanding its green energy footprint and achieving its ambitious sustainability goals. It’s exciting to see major players like NTPC leading the charge in building a greener future! 🌱
